As snowy weather continues to fall throughout most of Western Washington, travel through mountain passes such as Stevens Pass could become hazardous.
Avalanche specialist, Alan Willard with the WSDT, confirms that snowplow crews are preparing for a busy week as the snow is expected to continue to stack up along Cascade passes.
Earlier this month Stevens Pass saw closures due to fallen trees from heavy snow. As storms and avalanches continue to ravage the Cascade area, it is especially important for travelers to remember to pack chains and an emergency kit to avoid accidents or mishaps.
